At that time a monk at Sāgalā who was a student of Venerable Daḷhika was plagued by lust. He stole a turban from a shopkeeper and said to Daḷhika, “Sir, I’m not a monastic anymore. I’ll disrobe.” “But what have you done?” He told him. Venerable Daḷhika had the turban brought and valued. It was worth less than five <i lang='pi' translate='no'>māsaka</i> coins. Saying, “There’s no offense entailing expulsion,” he gave a teaching. And that monk was delighted. The second offense entailing expulsion is finished.
